Salam everybody
Babu just come back from attending the 6th Malaysia International Conference on Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Marriot Hotel, Putrajaya. Babu went with aunty RMS. It was a very good conference, well prepared, variety of papers and more importantly.. plenty of food day and night that my tummy has been kenyang for the last few days as we were practising the "see-food diet". The pictures below show some of our activities with newly-made academic friends who could become "gila-gila" sometimes... he, he....

The picture above shows the GOH, the newly appointed Deputy Minister of Tourism Malaysia, Dato Seri Sulaiaman Abd Rahman Taib officiating the opening of the conference by hitting the gong.... (though sikit saja nampak... not a good photographer... ;-) The event was on the morning of Tuesday, 28 April 2009..... then the next day we heard the sad news that his beloved mother.... Datin Seri Laila Taib passed away in Sarawak. Allahyarhammah was the wife of Sarawak Chief Minister, Dato Seri Amar Taib Mahmud. Alfatihah......

Ani babu and aunty RMS were in action at the conference venue. After lunch time we sneaked out to KL for a little shopping exercise and masa di food court Sogo, we bumped into this Malaysian designer, Calvin Khoo.... a nice and friendly man... ia friendly or kami yang very the friendly.... ? he, he....we tegured him first actually not knowing who he was... coz we saw him carrying two full bags of Jackel textile... so we asked him where Jackel was... and at the end he introduced himself as Calvin, the designer.... he, he....

The picture above shows two newly-met friends... two beautiful ladies from Iran but currently studying in Malaysia. While below are two very young friends... the male from Pinoy called Paolo and the female from Japan called Noa. Paolo is an undergraduate student at UP while Noa is a PhD student from a Japan uni. We tried to match make them during the conference dinner and both were very sporting, mau went up the stage menari joget and menabur bunga rampai to the shown pengantin olok-olok set up by the Malaysia cultural troop specially for the conference participants. The picture above shows more new academic friends who were more of the gila-gila type but whom we enjoyed much to spend the dinner time with. Angie... I am sorry coz there was not enough light to make you clearly seen in the photo. He, he... Seated next to babu is Dayang Siti Awi, originally from Sarawak but now is residing in KL. She has families and friends in Brunei. I hope to see you again if I go to KL. Standing at the back from left Angie, Roslina, Irene, Paolo, Noa and the lady I forgot the name but I could rememer that she ate very slowly that night... a nice lady. Our combination was really of multinationalities. Seated on my right is you know who i.e my conference room mate. he, he..... The last photo below shows our lunch time at KLIA. In the middle is another UBD colleague, Juraidah who attended another conference also at Putrajaya. Nice, young and small lady, whom malam-malam kami suruh lepak di bilik kami to story-story..... Thanks Juraidah for the lunch treat.

On the shopping list... which babu managed to do within a half day on Tuesday, babu managed to buy 5 pcs of Batik Malaysia for all the ladies in the house, a baju batik and socks for bapa, glasses, t-shirt and perfume for Afan, Roxy bag, T-shirt and contact lens for Jilah, fishing shirt and CK deoderant for abang, T-shirt for abang Rinan and a pair of cute striped shirt and long pants or the cute little darling Aqil. Babu hope eveybody will like the items....

On Aqil's note... we thought that they are coming to Serasa today... but when babu texted cheche, she said that not today.... but Sunday... ok... sabar..... Till then... cheers............
